When Victoria Lodge was consecrated on 30th August
1887 the ceremony was conducted by the Rt W Provincial Grand Master, The Rt Hon W L
Jackson MP, and attended by 14 founder members and 271 visitors. The Rt W Prov Grand
Master's remarks after the ceremony are worthy of repetition:
"The birth of every Lodge adds to the parental responsibility of the Grand
Master. I have no doubt that the Petitioners had well-founded reasons for believing
that the establishment of the new Lodge will enlarge the usefulness of Freemasonry.
On everyone who has accepted the position of founder rests the responsibility that
thorough Masonry shall be practised therein. I have no doubt that the establishment
of the Lodge will bring no discredit on our Order. I leave the honour, the credit
and the future in your hands, firmly believing that in every way you will retain the
traditional reputation of the Order."
The consecration and installation were followed by a banquet at the Great Northern
Victoria Hotel.

The Centenary was celebrated in the principal Temple at the Freemasons Hall,
Connaught Rooms, Bradford on 29th September 1997. The Provincial Grand Master,
R W Bro J Trevor Broadley, JP was in attendance to present the Centenary Warrant and
Centenary Jewels to the Master, W Bro John Watson, and Brethren of the Lodge. A cheque in
the sum of £2669 (representing the Lodge number) was donated to the Provincial Grand
Masters Fund to mark the occasion. W Bro the Rev Frank A Chappell, Provincial
Chaplain gave the Oration to the Lodge.
At the festive board, some 170 members and guests were treated to an
eight-course banquet! Lapel pins of Queen Victoria were given to all who attended as a
memento, together with a bound copy of the history of the Lodge produced by W Bro Donald
Jaggar. The Provincial Grand Master presented the Lodge with a case of New Zealand wine as
a late replacement for a food parcel that had been sent by Victoria Lodge, No 21 of
Napier, New Zealand in 1947 and which arrived just too late for the 50th
anniversary.
