Lodge Banner presented to Victoria Lodge,
No. 2669 by W Bro Charles Crabtree, PM 600,
PPGD, First Worshipful Master and W Bro Thos
Norfolk, PM 600, PPGDofC, Treasurer.

Victoria Lodge No. 2669 was formed by 14 members of Harmony Lodge No. 600 due to their membership being at maximum capacity with 12 candidates waiting for admission:-

The Lodge was named after our Sovereign, it being the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty's reign. After her death at the beginning of the present century, there followed a succession of Kings, namely Edward VII, George V, Edward VIII and George VI. On the death of the last monarch we arrive at the present reign with the Great Great Grand-daughter of Queen Victoria, Her Most Gracious Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, on the throne as the reigning Monarch.

Thus Victoria Lodge No. 2669 came into being during the reign of a Queen and the Centenary Celebrations are taking place during the reign of the next Queen to be on the throne since Queen Victoria.

It is noted that the formation of Victoria Lodge was such a drain on the finances of Harmony that, for the first time in their history, they found themselves in the red to the tune of £26.00. Relative to an annual subscription of £3.00, it represented quite a financial burden, but the current members consider it was "value for money".
